FULL-DAY TRIP TO RAINBOW MOUNTAIN VININCUNCA

Day 1: CUSCO – RAINBOW MOUNTAIN VININCUNCA – CUSCO

Embark on an early morning adventure as we pick you up at 5:00 AM from your hotel to journey through an uncharted territory of wild desert landscapes, snow-capped peaks, and herds of alpaca. As you make your way to the ultimate destination – the painted hills tucked deep in the Andes – you’ll pass through a lush green valley with the impressive Ausangate Mountain looming in the distance. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the local mountain lifestyle and even engage with the locals. 

As you reach Qesiuno, the starting point, you’ll savor a fresh breakfast before heading out to witness the first signs of the colored minerals that create the painted hills. Your guide will provide an in-depth explanation of the Rainbow Mountain’s geological formation, and with a final push, you’ll hike up to a vantage point that offers a 360-degree view of the awe-inspiring landscapes that make up this sacred land. 

After taking in the breathtaking scenery, you’ll have some free time before embarking on a hike to Qesiuno, where you’ll enjoy a boxed lunch en route.

Finally, you’ll return to Cusco, where we’ll drop you off at your hotel around 4:30 PM.

• Hiking boots or shoes
• Warm socks
• Waterproof jacket or rain poncho
• Warm layers (fleece or wool sweater, thermal shirt)
• Hat and gloves
• Sunglasses and sunscreen
• Daypack
• Water bottle or hydration system
• Snacks and/or lunch
• Cash for entrance fee and any purchases
• Camera or smartphone with camera
• Personal medication (if necessary)
• Toilet paper and hand sanitizer
